Our Campaign

The Waste plastic for Economic Wealth (WAPEWE) project aims to be instrumental in saving and conserving Masaka’s environment by managing, collecting, sorting, recycling all rigid waste plastics and re-use. The project’s objectives is to create direct and indirect employment to Persons with disabilities and their families through collection, transport, sorting, washing and processing of waste plastics; To add value and quality from waste plastic to certified recycled plastics which can find a market anywhere in the world; and to sustain environmental sanitation improvement, with subsequent benefits in health and well being for the PWDs and the community.

The community will support the project by identifying and willingly to offer the waste for the centre, availing land and office where the recycling centre will be established and well as providing time to the project.

The WAPEWE Project therefore becomes the catalyst for income generation and employment creation to Persons with Disabilities as well as conserving our environment in Masaka District.
